List of Health Conditions from A to Z

Stomach problems such as, GERD, acid reflux, stomach ulcer, poor digestion explained, herbs, supplement, diet which help with stomach health, Understanding the anatomy of the stomach in layman's terms,

SYSTEM: Digestion

SHAPE: Like 1/2 of a Valentine's heart (see Stomach Title Page)

SIZE: 6-8 inches long by 3-4 inches wide.  It expands to accommodate whatever you eat

LOCATION: Lying beneath the diaphragm under the ribs behind the belly button.

FUNCTION: to churn food to break down food into smaller particles

KINESIOLOGY: For hiatus hernia - bottom left of breast bone in soft area.  Stomach point is 3 inches below that. (see page Stomach - 5)

IRIDOLOGY: The first zone (area surrounding the pupil). (see page Stomach-6)  If the stomach is okay you should not be able to see it.  Dark ring means over-acid  Light means under acid.  I usually rely on symptoms of poor digestion.  Rifting (burping) means need for HCL (Hydrochloric acid) - Flatulence (farting) means need for enzymes.

Assimilation ring (burnt stomach lining) shows as a firery halo just inside the pupil (see page Stomach-7)

Black points on iris stemming from the pupil could possibly indicate ulcer (looks like pupil is chipped).  If the black points are triangular like pyramids it could be a sign of hypoglycemia (see page Stomach-5)

REFLEXOLOGY: both eyes down from the big toe right before the instep. (see page Stomach-8)

HELPS TO IMPROVE FUNCTION: Chewing food thoroughly makes it easier to digest.  Do not drink 1 hour before or after a meal, it dilutes the hydrochloric acid (HCL).  Eating smaller meals ensures better HCL action and digestion.

DETRIMENTAL TO ITS HEALTH: Not chewing food properly.  Antacids such as Rolaids, tums, zantex, maalox etc. make the stomach too alkaline.  The stomach is suppose to be very acidic.

Another less known function of the acid in the stomach is to protect it from bacteria, viruses and parasites.  A lack of HCL is a strong contributor to stomach cancer.  I would therefore not use antacids haphazardly (on a regular basis).

Stress stops the production of HCL (hydrochloric acid).

If there is no food in the stomach for long periods of time the HCL will start digesting the mucous lining of the stomach.

Aspirin is also hard on the stomach and intestine.

Chronic dyspepsia - Long term indigestion

Acute Gastritis - Inflamed stomach lining caused by a bacteria, virus, chemical or spoiled food

Pyloric stenosis (in newborns) obstruction of the stomach

Nausea and vomiting can originate from various conditions

Too thin mucousa of the stomach and esophagus can keep the opening to the stomach from closing properly.  That can let acid shoot up the esophagus when it is churning this is called acid reflux.

Peptic Ulcer - Ulceration (lower esophagus to upper stomach)

Duodenal Ulcer - Ulceration (lower stomach to upper small intestine {usually due to a natural sodium deficiency})

Heartburn - Faulty cardiac sphincter muscle (Where it flaps and pinches close at the top of the stomach where the esophagus enters) Doctor's have often told someone their heartburn is an over-acid stomach and without fail so far; Iridology indicated that they were lacking acid. When they took a product that contained HCL (hydrochloric acid) their chronic heartburn went away.

Under-acid stomach can allow cancer to grow (no acid to kill off the cancer)

Under-acid stomach can cause heartburn

Belching, or gassiness often is undigested food fermenting

MAIN MINERALS: Chlorine, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium and sulfur

MAIN VITAMINS: A, B-1, B-2, niacin (B-3), Folic acid (B-9), C, D, and G

Liquid Chlorophyll Soothes, builds and nourishes stomach
Aloe Vera Heals, builds lining of stomach and soothes
Alfalfa Builds lining of stomach
Ginger Motion, morning sickness and upset stomach
Papaya Mints Stabilizes (not neutralizes) acid in stomach. Nature's tums
Safflowers Stimulates HCL (hydrochloric acid) production
Slippery Elm Healer for irritated or inflamed tissues (ulcers) helps rebuild mucousa in whole digestive track

PDA Helps digest heavy proteins (HCL)
Food Enzymes Helps with HCL and enzymes
U For ulcers
Intestinal Soothe & Build (formally UC3J) For ulcers, calicos, Crohn's Disease and colitis
Catnip and Fennel Relax digestive system, helps digestion, colic
Digestazyme Helps digest herbs
Proactazyme General purpose digestive aid
Hp Fighter For the      bacteria
Leguzyme Helps digest beans and legumes

Nausea/Vomiting General sickness
Food:Grains (allergy) Helps digest grains
Food: Dairy (allergy) Helps digest dairy products
Indigestion For indigestion and heartburn

Alfalfa sprouts, cabbage or celery juiced High in organic sodium
Goat's whey Organic sodium

The stomach lining needs organic sodium, this does not come from table salt or even sea or real salt.

They have found that some stomach ulcers are caused by a bacteria.  If the HCL (hydrochloric acid) in the stomach is at least the pH balance of 2.0, most bacteria are destroyed.

The stomach is supposed to be acidic.  Antacids neutralize all the acid in the stomach.  Anything you eat afterward goes undigested.

Most stomach problems can be improved by building the natural mucous lining of the stomach.

You should not drink with your meals.  When you do you dilute the acid and it does not work as well as it could full strength

Antacids are a strong contributing factor to stomach cancer!!!

Body sign of a bad stomach is a slightly enlarged upper lip.

There are 5 points of digestion.

  • The mouth (were a big part should be done)
  • HCL from the stomach
  • Enzymes from the pancreas
  • Enzymes from the duodenum
  • Enzymes and bile salts from the liver

If any one of the points of digestion do not work properly, it puts a strain on the other points.

Proper food combining helps digestion.

Raw Vegetables and Fruits contain enzymes which helps to take the strain off our finite (limited) enzyme production ability.

Poor digestion can contribute to acidosis and to such conditions as arthritis, cancer, lupus etc.
Yes answer indicates
Do you have rifting (burping) Lacking HCL
Do you have flatulence (farting), or bloating Lacking enzymes
Do you get acid reflux or heartburn Could indicate a lack of natural sodium
